Netanyahu Is King in a World of Perpetual Fear

Barack Obama used an Israeli TV interview last week to gently rebuke Israel’s prime minister. He warned Benjamin Netanyahu that security obsessions made him able only to “see the worst possibilities”.

Mr Netanyahu’s intransigence had destroyed Israel’s “credibility” in regard to a two-state solution, Mr Obama added, indicating that he would not seek to revive peace talks.
Driving home the point, senior White House officials met for the first time with Breaking the Silence, a group of dissident soldiers vilified by the Netanyahu government.

The organisation recently published soldiers’ testimonies that they received orders during Israel’s attack on Gaza last summer to shoot Palestinians, whether they were armed or not. Such testimony could one day assist war crimes investigators at the International Criminal Court.

Meanwhile, Israel went into diplomatic meltdown over an exhibition of testimonies that Breaking the Silence is staging in Zurich. It lambasted Switzerland for funding a “slanderous” event. At the same time, Mr Netanyahu hurriedly held a press conference to defend Israel as one of “the world’s greatest democracies”, and barred government ministers from referring to the Obama interview.

The Israeli prime minister has proved himself a master of mining the rich seam of fear that dominates Israeli political discourse. It is the source of his power, as he illustrated during the election campaign when he warned voters the country’s Arab citizens were “coming out in droves”.

A poll of schoolchildren last week showed how deeply entrenched such chauvinist sentiments have become. It found that only a quarter of Jewish youngsters believe it is more important for Israel to be democratic than Jewish. Barely more – 28 per cent – condemn the settlers’ “price-tag” attacks, random violence aimed at the Palestinian population to exact a price for any action taken against the settlement enterprise.

One statistic helps explain the findings. Two-thirds of Jewish teenagers report never having had contact with a member of the country’s Palestinian minority, one in five of the population.

That is not accidental. Successive governments have carefully structured life in Israel to avert any danger of Israelis developing relationships across the ethnic divide in their formative years.

Education is almost completely segregated, as is residency. The few spaces where the Jewish and Arab populations can meet come later, usually in asymmetrical roles at work. By then, ideas about Arabs are pretty fixed through schooling, army service and the wider political climate.

There is no popular demand for binational education apart from a half dozen private schools, one of which was firebombed last year by right-wingers who term the mixing of Jews and Arabs “assimilation”.

Even Israel’s most liberal Jewish parents turn their back on mixed education beyond junior school, teachers tell me. They fear exposing their offspring to the psychological stress of developing friendships with Arabs just as they ready themselves to serve in an army that treats Palestinians as less than human.

Most Jewish children learn no Arabic, experience no Arab culture and are exposed to Arabs chiefly through images of war and violence. Despite living in the Middle East, they are encouraged to look westward, not east.

A majority of Jewish children are taught in religious schools that consciously eschew modern education in favour of a Biblical tribalism. Worse, the education ministry is now firmly in the hands of settler leader Naftali Bennett.

The dehumanisation of Arabs only accelerates for Israelis during the military draft. The mechanics of prolonged occupation play a part, as do the growing influence of settlers in the officer corps and the extremist rabbis who indoctrinate soldiers in “Jewish awareness”.
So dominant have the rabbis become that Gadi Eisenkott, the military chief of staff, called last week for their role to be curbed.

In Israeli cultural life, Palestinians appear only as an enemy. Two shows offering a rare insight into life under occupation face closure by the government. Critics, including Mr Bennett, of one play – about Palestinian political prisoners – object precisely because it humanises its subjects.
In the political arena, the ever-present bogeyman is the Palestinian, Arab or Iranian.
The Knesset’s Arab MPs, even moderates, are barely tolerated, while the occupation is pushed into the political shadows. Last week the parliament refused a debate to mark the 48th anniversary of the 1967 war.

Regional political disputes centre on how Israel should achieve military supremacy. Should Israel attack Iran alone or lobby the US to do it instead? How can Israel best destroy Hizbollah and its tens of thousands of rockets aimed at Israel’s heartland? All but a tiny left is agreed that a Palestinian state would be an existential danger.

In this world of perpetual fear, Arabs and Iranians are viewed only as distant and dangerous objects, not people. And in the world of worst possibilities, Mr Netanyahu is king.
But Israel’s enemies are changing. Where once it fought Arab states, now its tanks and attack helicopters struggle against the guerrilla tactics of Hamas and Hizbollah.
That same heavy artillery will provide even less protection against Israel’s next opponents: civil disobedience, an anti-apartheid struggle, international boycotts and war crimes investigations. Then Mr Netanyahu may truly have reason to be afraid.

Like so many other unspeakable crimes against humanity before and after, the European Holocaust committed by the Nazis was pure evil; plain and simple. Whether it was 6 million, 4 million or 1 million people who were murdered, it was horrific period! There is no debate about it! And it should be recognized as such, period! 

However, it was not the only genocide committed against humanity in history. In fact, there have been many sick crimes committed by mentally ill humans with massive power in history both in antiquity and in modern history e.g.. Holdomar in Ukraine, Rwanda in Africa, the Armenian Genocide, the Native Americans in North America, the Circassian Genocide and much more......

The big difference is the way the Holocaust has been utilized by leading propagandists in the Zionist political movement. In fact, by far, the Holocaust is the most exploited genocide in history making the others seem relatively benign and inconsequential. 

And so, for Zionists who's ambition is Eretz Israel, playing the Holocaust Card has become predictable on American media to make sure "we never forget". All War Criminals Must Go To Jail 

Now check it, yesterday, in England, protesters who are well aware of the crimes of the Nazis protested as Israeli leader Tzipi Livni appeared to meet with Jewish Fund leaders. 

She was there to insure she can continue to fund the settlements that pay for the future conquest of the natives in the West Bank so that the ethnic cleanse the peoples of Palestine continues forward while politicians strategically continue to waver on a two-state solution. 

It's all part of the gambit; play the fake peace deal game and then continually settle more land every once in a while pulling a few settlers off with the media watching pretending that Israel is doing something about it (a TV show); all the while expanding their territory. 

But without the Holocaust card providing a nice push, it makes it harder. So the ADL is rallying trying to find ways to get the Holocaust back on U.S. media in front of its target audience. 

But like Donald Sterling, the racist NBA owner with clear dementia who continues to try to justify his 20th century plantation mentality, it may be too late. 

I mean, so far, these greedy anti-humans are running into a new world order that is passing their racist imperial ambitions created for them by their founding fatherTheodore Herzl.

You see Herzl, back in the 19th century, seemed to really have an innocent reason for his "Jewish only" state dream. (Der Judenstat). He did NOT think the European Jews could assimilate into society so he reached out to create a place where they could be on their own away from the evolution of the European society. 

His first choice was Argentina. Then Uganda was on the list. Yeah, the Zionist Congress sent a fact finding delegation to check it all out. How many supporters of Israel know this absolute fact? Do you? I mean many Zionists loved Uganda with many of them staying and actually building settlements. Yep, Euro Jews in Uganda! But alas, the Zionist Congress voted it down and instead went with Palestine. They felt the local indigenous populations would NOT resist and the land was better suited for their Euro ambitions. 

I mean Herzl actually thought that European Jews would fit right in and that many religions and languages would exist over time making this land a great place for these European peoples. 

After reading his stuff, I don't think he envisioned Israel today in all of its racism, bigotry, violence and arrogance. Nevertheless, this was before the Holocaust and so Herzl had to play different cards. 

What Herzl did use to his advantage was the 5000 year old biblical story of the Semitic Hebrews and the story of Moses. 

He felt this story from antiquity would be a great sales pitch that would bring immigrants from Europe into Palestine. He knew the 5000 year old story was basically ridiculous. I mean, Herzl was an admitted atheist. Yep, look it up and do all the research you need. But yeah, dood was an atheist! Comedy right? But anyway, he was a good pitchman in his time and boom, it worked. I mean, he sold England right? (See Balfour Declaration)

In fact, it worked so good that the MOSES CARD is still in use today in the USA. Zionist do NOT really try to sell Jews on this anymore. I mean, most Jews don't want to move to Israel. The ADL even admits that in their report. 

Jews prefer to stay in the countries where they are happy and call home. Basically like everyone! Duh! And point in fact, many Jews I have met say the USA is a much better place to live than in Israel. So why move there! 

But really, the Moses Card is now used to sell the Christian Evangelicals who are given this directive from their Zionist Pastors who are sharp shrewd and well monetized with bank rolls that would make Jesus condemn them to hell. 

So what is going on here? 

Well the Holocaust Card is greatly diminishing. So the Moses Card is all they have left to sell. Is that enough to keep the Golden Goose U.S. Taxpayer in line funding the ambitions of Zionism? Or will this card eventually fall under the weight of its own fallacy as Americans come to realize that they have been duped. 

Well if the ADL has anything to say about it, expect them to attack as they always do. That is who they are! 

But if the trend continues and Americans wake up for their long nightmare and realize that investing in the USA comes first, not Israel, then maybe Israel will be forced to abandon the modern perverted racist and anti-human Zionist dream and evolve into a multi-cultural country where the only chosen people are all of its citizens not just some of them. After all, we're all human beings right?

Is The Military-Industrial Complex Invincible?

It was more than half a century ago that the then U.S. President Dwight Eisenhower, in his farewell address to the nation, warned of the growing influence of a phenomenon that still continues to undermine and weaken the bases of American democracy: the military-industrial complex.

The military-industrial complex is a concept denoting a money-spinning and economically beneficial interaction between the war-planners and the arms industry. The government officials set the plans for a new military adventure with the apparent goal of “exporting democracy” to other countries and “liberating” them while the genuine, behind-the-scenes goal is to further some political interests and plunder the natural resources of the target country. On their part, the multinational companies get profitable and lucrative deals for manufacturing weaponry, and the whole process, which ultimately leads to unwarranted killings and irretrievable destructions, undercuts the government’s accountability before the Constitution and the international law.

To get an idea of what the military-industrial complex is, it would be helpful to take a look at the relationship between the legislative bodies of the U.S. federal government, i.e. the bicameral Congress comprised of the Senate and the House of Representatives, the arms manufacturing industry, the interest groups, political lobbies, the multinational organizations and the corporate media.

For a long time, this dreadful complex, which the only army general elected as the U.S. President has worriedly warned about, has imposed additional and unjustifiable costs on the American taxpayers. The U.S. citizens have been bearing the brunt of the government’s warmongering and bloodletting across the globe. It’s noted that the United States, since its independence, has either directly or indirectly taken part in more than 50 wars and military confrontations that have cost the lives of millions of innocent, unarmed civilians. The most recent example is the 2003 invasion of Iraq, which until the complete withdrawal of the U.S. forces in 2011, claimed around 1.5 million lives.

The American citizens, even those who usually approve of the government policies regardless of which party is in power, have always complained about the disproportionate and irrational spending of the successive administrations on militarism and wars. This concern was echoed in President Eisenhower’s farewell address delivered on January 17, 1961 where he stated, “three and a half million men and women are directly engaged in the defense establishment. We annually spend on military security more than the net income of all United States corporations.”

The people’s dissatisfaction with the U.S. government’s excessive spending on military projects and arms production has been manifested in different ways; from the millions-strong rallies and demonstrations in several U.S. cities preceding the Iraq War, to the recent Occupy Wall Street movement, which was seminally oriented on economic demands, but subsequently expanded to encompass the people’s political grievances regarding the U.S. foreign policy and its military expeditions in the Middle East. Needless to say the Occupy Wall Street movement, which was a purely democratic and popular uprising, was brutally crushed and suppressed by the U.S. police state, as the prominent lawyer Marjorie Cohn puts it.

However, as the military-industrial complex grows and becomes stronger, the American democracy turns more fragile and unstable. The military-industrial complex has been a serious challenge to the democratic values upon which the Founding Fathers have constructed the U.S. Constitution. As time goes by, the government finds it more difficult to rationalize its imperial, expansionistic and militaristic agenda and justify its war adventures to its people, and once a government ceases to be responsible, accountable and transparent, it would be the starting point of the enfeeblement and evaporation of democracy.

The military-industrial complex wins profits for the arm dealers and traders whose existence and survival is hinged on wars and military confrontations. These contractors control and manipulate the public opinion through their dominance over the mainstream media. The mainstream media rarely run stories that are critical of the war policies of the government, and instead function as the propaganda wing of the state. A notorious example is the joint collaboration by Judith Miller and her colleagues at the New York Times to lay the groundwork for the invasion of Iraq in 2003 by presenting false evidence of the non-existent Iraqi Weapons of Mass Destruction. The massive media propaganda campaign by the New York Times and other state-controlled newspapers and TV channels in the United States instituted this belief that a war was necessary to prevent Saddam Hussein from going mad and dropping its chemical bombs on the heads of the American citizens. It goes without saying that Saddam Hussein was the very puppet whom the United States and its European allies prodded into attacking Iran in 1980.

Although imperialism and militarism have been two inherent and characteristic features of the U.S. political establishment for a long time, the world has been witness to an extreme growth of the American greed for more wealth and political power in the recent years, especially following the 9/11 attacks that marked the beginning of a new era in the U.S. relations with the international community. The 9/11 attacks, which completely accidentally took place when the hawkish Republican George W. Bush was in power, underpinned the mindset of “either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists” and provided a good justification for invading and attacking the countries which are seen as potential threats to the U.S. national security.

Of course the role of lobbies and interest groups in the unrestrained growth of the military-industrial complex should not be ignored. The Israeli lobby is seen as the most powerful and influential external force in the U.S. political atmosphere and the foremost role-player that alters the major foreign policy decisions took by the White House.

The prominent investigative journalist Wayne Madsen believes that the Israeli lobby owns the White House, Congress, the Democratic and Republican parties and Hollywood. “The Israeli Lobby owns the Congress, media, Hollywood, Wall Street, both political parties, and the White House. This kind of talk will get people fired by this lobby, as we have seen recently with White House correspondent Helen Thomas and CNN anchor Rick Sanchez. However, many Americans are growing tired of the arrogance of the Israel Lobby and their bigoted attitudes toward anyone who challenges their influence-peddling and their ridiculous insistence that Israel must be supported because of some ancient fairy tales involving some tribes who wandered the deserts of the Middle East and saw and heard non-existent things because of sun stroke, drinking bad water, and smoking local hallucinogenic plants,” said Madsen in a December 2010 interview with the Veterans Today news and analysis website.

The military-industrial complex never cares for the morality or decency of the wars in which innocent people are massacred. It simply cares for the dollars that are earned through waging wars. The White House and Pentagon have also shown that they stride on the same path and take action whenever there are chances for winning some financial gains, even if the gain is insignificant and dispensable.

Nevertheless, even though the military-industrial complex seems enormously powerful and prevailing, it’s not invincible. The grassroots movements, the alternative media, progressive, anti-war intellectuals, scholars, authors, journalists and conscious citizens can resist the forces that are driving our world to more wars and unrestricted bloodshed. As Laura Eisenhower, the great granddaughter of the U.S. President Dwight Eisenhower, noted in an interview, unity and consciousness can lead to the collapse of the military industrial complex. So, even a member of the presidential family tells us that what his great grandfather had warned against 53 years ago is not an unbreakable, undefeatable goal. It can be brought down.
